Quick and Easy Strawberry Sauce

Hey Y’all! I hope you all are sticking in there through this quarantine.

Like most of you, I’ve been doing my fair share of stress baking . Or maybe some of y’all have been doing your fair share of stress eating. Either way, I feel like we will all come out of this quarantine knowing how to make a new dish or two.

One of the things I was tempted to make was a quick and easy Strawberry Sauce that would so perfect on top of ice cream, yogurt or hell by itself.

I had a 1 lb container of strawberries in the fridge that were getting ready to go bad so they were perfect for this recipe. Slightly bruised and starting to look a little blah, they were perfect for this recipe.

Be sure to slice the tops of your strawberries off, removing the green stem. Next, slice the strawberries in 3- 4 slices. Remember, the slices dont need to be perfect but try to get them about the same size as possible so everything cooks evenly.

Place cut strawberries in a heavy bottomed sauce pan, add in sugar and a squeeze of lemon juice. Let it boil for about 15-20 minutes, remove from heat and let cool.
