Why are these called Maple Mummy Cookies?
These cookies are such a perfect treat for Halloween. There are so fun and the perfect dessert to make with the kids. Soft and chewy maple cookies drizzled to look like little mummies then topped with candy eyes.

Runamok Maple
They are made with quality maple syrup from Runamok Maple. For this recipe I used their SugarMaker’s Cut Maple Syrup which is a Grade A, Amber color. This made the cookies so delicious, soft and so chewy. The Runamok Sugarmaker’s Cut Maple Syrup also adds the perfect amount of sweetness to the cookies.
Maple Extract
Although these cookies are made with pure maple syrup, it doesn’t give the cookies the exact maple flavor needed to take these cookies over the top. That’s where the Maple Extract comes in to to play. You only need a teaspoon for the cookies to bring out the maple flavor.

- Butter
- Sugar
- Light Brown Sugar

Now that the cookies are baked, it’s time to make the glaze. The Maple glaze will be drizzled on after the cookies cool. In a medium bowl, add in the powdered sugar, maple syrup and milk….mix until well combined and smooth.

It’s time to assemble! Once the cookies are cooled, line the cookies on parchment. With a spoon, drizzle the maple glaze in zig zag pattern then push the candy eyeballs gently into the cookies. Allow the cookies to set completely.
