This Chocolate Mocha Pound Cake is dense, moist and has that typical pound cake crumb. I took this pound cake up just a notch by adding some chocolate ganache to it however it will be just as delicious on its on. I’m sure it would amazing topped with whipped cream and berries also.
Ingredients List
- Butter
- Sugar
- Eggs
- Sour Cream
- Brewed Coffee
- All Purpose Flour
- Vanilla
- Baking Powder
- Cocoa Powder

As you can see, this pound cake comes together with just a handful of ingredients.
Substitutes
If you don’t have sour cream then plain Greek yogurt will work as well.
How to Make the Pound Cake
- Butter, Cocoa Powder & Coffee: In a microwavable safe bowl, melt butter then add in cocoa powder and brewed coffee. Set it aside to cool slightly.
- Eggs & Sour Cream: Add in eggs and sour cream
- Dry Ingredients: Then fold in the dry.
Mix all of the ingredients until fully combined. Pour the batter into a greased bundt pan or 2- 9inch loaf pans and bake for 55-60 minutes.

- 3 Sticks Butter Melted
- 1 cup Brewed Coffee
- 1 cup Cocoa Powder
- 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 2 1/2 cups Granulated Sugar
- 4 Eggs
- 2 1/2 cup All Purpose Flour
- 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
- 1/2 cup Sour Cream
Ganache
- 1/2 cup Heavy Cream
- 1/2 cup Semi- Sweet Chocolate Chips
Instructions
Chocolate Mocha Pound Cake
- 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. In a microwavable safe bowl, melt butter. Add the cocoa powder, vanilla, coffee and mix together. Let cool for about 2 minutes.3. Add in eggs and sour cream. Next, fold in the dry ingredients until well combined. 4. Pour the batter into a greased 10 inch bundt pan or 2 inch loaf pans.5. Bake for 55-60 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
Ganache
- 1. Heat heavy cream in microwavable safe bowl. 2. Add in chocolate chips. Let it sit for about 5 minutes without stirring. 3. After about 5 minutes, stir the chocolate the and heavy cream together.
