How to make Brown Butter ?
These Brown Butter Chocolate Chunk cookies start out by browning the butter. This is a super easy process that will give so much flavor to the cookies. Start out by placing two sticks of unsalted butter in a sauce pan. Then stir the butter the entire time to keep it from moving and from burning. Once the butter is melted, it will begin to foam. Be sure to constantly stir.
It will take about 6-8 minutes for the butter to brown. It’s super important to keep stirring it the entire time so it doesn’t burn. Once the butter is a golden color, it’s all set. There will be brown bits in the pan also, those are the milk solids and we want to be sure to keep those. That’s where a lot of the flavor will come from.
Transfer the butter to a heat proof bowl and let it cool before using.
