I have a serious question y’all…. Can you ever have enough chocolate?! I would think not…like when I was kid I really wished that Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory was a real thing…who am I kidding? I still wish that lol.
This Hot Fudge Cake is the stuff of my dreams and dare I say the stuff of Mr. Wonka’s dreams too.
This recipe comes together pretty quickly and makes the most chocolate richly insane dessert. The crazy thing is ….it makes its own chocolate sauce. Its rich, fudgy and so amazingly chocolatey.
Start out my mixing the flour, sugar, milk, baking powder, cocoa powder, salt, oil and vanilla extract. The batter will be super thick. Pour into an ungreased 9×13 baking pan. Mix together the brown sugar and cocoa powder and sprinkle over the batter. Boil your 3 cups of water and pour that over the brown sugar/cocoa mixture. Do not mix…just place the pan in the oven and bake for 30 minutes.
This cake made my house smell like straight up heaven. Once it came out of the oven, I let it rest for about 5 minutes and then quickly topped it with ice cream and dug in.
The cake is good by itself but I would HIGHLY recommend you top this decadence with some ice cream. Yummmm.
Enjoy!!!!
