Ingredients

  • 4 Eggs
  • 1/3 cup Whole Milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 2 teaspoon Cocoa Powder
  • 2 teaspoon Red Food Coloring
  • 8 Thick Sliced Bread

Instructions

  • 1. Grab a medium size bowl then add in your eggs, sugar, vanilla and milk. Whisk vigorously until well combined. Slowly add in cocoa powder to ensure the cocoa powder doesn't fall to the bottom of the bowl. Lastly, add in the red food coloring and mix.
    2. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mix and allow to sit for 30 seconds to a minute on each side.
    3. While the bread is sitting in the egg mix, heat butter in a medium skillet. Place bread into the skillet and cook on each side for 1-2 minutes or until golden brown. Repeat until all bread and custard have been used.
    4. Enjoy warm with whipped cream, fresh berries and hot maple syrup.
