Easy steps to make French Toast
Grab a medium size bowl then add in your eggs, sugar, vanilla and milk. Whisk vigorously until well combined. Slowly add in cocoa powder to ensure the cocoa powder doesn’t fall to the bottom of the bowl. Lastly, add in the red food coloring and mix. Dip each slice of bread into the egg mix and allow to sit for 30 seconds to a minute on each side. While the bread is sitting in the egg mix, heat butter in a medium skillet. Place bread into the skillet and cook on each side for 1-2 minutes or until golden brown. Repeat until all bread and custard have been used.
Can I make this recipe ahead of time
Of course! Make the French toast as directed then either refrigerate for up to 2 days or freeze for up to 1 month.

What to serve on french toast
Plain maple syrup would be perfect here but you can certainly add whatever you want and make it your own. I like to dust my french toast with powdered sugar then layer on a generous amount of whipped cream. I also love adding fresh fruit on top of the warm French toast. So damn good!
