What chocolate can I use this breakfast treat?
I used semi-sweet chocolate in this recipe however milk, white or even dark chocolate would be great!

Types of pans for coffee cake
Because this coffee cake is pretty big, I like to use a 9×13 inch pan. I used a 9 inch round pan and the batter complete over flowed the pan which was huge mess. You could also make mini coffee cakes by baking them in a muffin tin just be sure to adjust the baking time to about 18-20 minutes.
Why is it called Coffee Cake?
I know it’s crazy but coffee cake doesn’t actually contain coffee at all. It’s meant to be served with coffee with is why it’s called coffee. Coffee cake is buttery, not to sweet and the perfect treat with a giant cup of coffee.

Best baking tools
- Baking Pan– Again, I prefer to use a 9×13 inch baking pan, this pan is also great for a variety of recipes as well.
- Stand Mixer or Hand Mixer– Now you certainly don’t need to use a stand mixer with this recipe, however it makes it a lot easier to combine all the ingredients. Just be sure to scrape the bottom of the bowl to make sure everything is combined.
- Spatula– I love these spatulas from Target or Sur La Table to get all that batter incorporated.
